Operating in one of the fastest-growing sports sectors in the UK, the Xtra Mile Events proposition is to provide high quality mass-participation sports events across the country. The customer experience is second to none - from the moment the customer first views the company website, to support with their training, participation in their event, and even via the post-event services offered.  The Xtra Mile Events’ ethos is to provide the ‘xtra mile’ in product and service to the customer so that they can go their personal ‘xtra mile’ in their sport.

Xtra Mile Events brings a new level of professionalism to local endurance sport events. Applying the management practices and cutting-edge technology used at top tier events, Xtra Mile Events has developed a format for fully scalable, easily reproducible, high-quality regional triathlons, duathlons, cyclosportives, and running races, where there is huge growth potential in the future.

Xtra Mile Events is the brainchild of top sports industry manager and triathlon enthusiast Gemma Herbertson.  From when she first saw the gap in the market, Gemma sought to deliver superbly organised events, which presented a ‘wow factor’ for all participants – enthusiasts and novices alike.  


Xtra Mile Events burst onto the scene in 2007 with five events held across the North West of England—each a great success. Word of a new series of quality events quickly spread and by the following season, the company's events were selling out!  2011 sees the team hosting thirteen events, amongst them a National Championship Race, Regional Championship Race, and a World Championship Qualifier Duathlon. 

The Llandudno Sea Triathlon was also bestowed as Race of the Year in the prestigious 220Triathlon Awards in February 2011.  
Xtra Mile Events is certainly going places, and a dedicated team of like-minded professionals is now sought to go places with them, across the whole of the UK.

 

The Opportunity    
Xtra Mile Events is an elite management business. The Franchise Owner will establish the business in an exclusive territory, and organise, promote and stage high-quality Xtra Mile Events within their agreed area. Active and mobile, the Franchise Owner may base their operations at home.

Franchise Owners are provided with up to ten days of training, a detailed operations manual, launch support, business tools, local and national promotional assistance, a helpline facility, the support of a dedicated Franchise Advisor, networking opportunities and more.

In return, the Franchise Owner dedicates their full time and attention to their franchise business, and diligently applies our transferred expertise to reach their financial goals.
The rewards are rich opportunities for professional, personal and financial advancement as an organiser of premier endurance events.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful Xtra Mile Events Franchise Owner has superb organisational and time-management skills, a customer care mentality, and enthusiasm. Self-starters with the ability to focus and follow systems, they have the determination and commitment to make a proven system work for them.

Whilst triathlon enthusiasts are certainly welcome, those with event organisation or management experience of any kind will be at the greatest advantage.  Our selection criteria are rigorous and we are only looking for winners.

Franchise Owners will be provided with a comprehensive training programme which provides all of the knowledge needed to run endurance events. This includes:

All booking administration is handled through the Xtra Mile website leaving the Franchise Owner free to concentrate on going that ‘xtra mile’ with their events and their customers.
