Findlow's Formula Won!



Leeds and Bradford Triathlon Club's Rick Findlow won the Oulton Park Motor Racing Track Spring Duathlon on 19th April, in 1h 11m 34s. And, landing a new course record for the ladies, first home was Vicki Wade of Manchester Triathlon Club in 1h 18m 02s.

Great weather and a fast undulating track, greeted around 100 competitors who nervously lined up on the starting grid of the famous motor racing track. The male race was closely fought for most of the event between Findlow and Glen Mullins, but the final run lap finally saw Findlow take the lead and cross the line first. In the female race Wade showed she was on top form for 2009, by beating her nearest rival, Emma Cox, incredibly by over 13 minutes.

As over 50% of the entrants were novices to the sport, it was a great achievement for Russell Huby and Sarah Rhodes to win the male and female Novice categories. The club category was won by Manchester Triathlon Club.

The next Xtra Mile Events duathlon at Oulton Park takes place in October.
