CONWY MIDDLE DISTANCE +
Can you conquer The Conwy Middle? One of the most challenging but most stunning middle distance triathlons at one of the greatest triathlon venues in the UK.
Now called the Conwy Middle Distance Triathlon
Based at the brand new Porth Eirias watersports complex, the conwy middle distance+ triathlon is a great new event in the triathlon calendar. Following on from the success of the Llandudno sea triathlon, Xtra Mile Events have again teamed up with Conwy County Council to bring you a sea based middle distance triathlon to rival the best in the UK.
Triathletes will start in the sea at Porth Eirias and embark on a 1900m, 2 lap swim, then exit via the new slipway and run straight into the transition area before setting off on the NEW 85km cycle route around the beautiful countryside south of Colwyn Bay - this is possibly the most spectacular triathlon course in the UK!
The run will be along the coastal path which is fast and flat (with a couple of little rises) affording beautiful views of the North Welsh coast. There is a new finish line on the promenade next to Porth Eirias.
Start time: Middle - 08:00 Standard - 09:00
Race registration will be in Porth Eirias on Friday 15th July from 16:00 to 18:30 and Saturday 16th July between 06:00 and 07:30. No registrations will be accepted after this time. Absolutely no late registrations will be accepted as this will delay the start. On the day entries may be accepted if space is available.
Registering relay teams Only one team member needs to come to registration, but they must have photographic ID for all members.
Neoprene gloves and booties for the swim These are not ‘legal’ equipment for a triathlon. However, if you wish to wear them you can, but you will be disqualified (you can still continue the race and you will get a time).
Please note the event booklet on this page is from 2015. The event will follow a similar format in 2016 except for the new single lap cycle leg.
