Each year Xtra Mile Events nominates a charity which competitors might like to consider fundraising for through their participation in our events. In 2008 it is Sustrans.

Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity. Their vision is a world in which people can choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. Every day Sustrans works on practical, innovative ways of dealing with the transport challenges that affect us all. In the last decade, with the help of many partners, they have seen the completion of the first 10,000 miles of the National Cycle Network across Britain, and they currently co-ordinate over 2000 Volunteer Rangers who donate their time to maintain routes in their communities.
